Scroll down or click on an icon below for directions on how to update Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari (desktop and mobile), or Android:

Update Google Chrome | Desktop

In order to update your Google Chrome browser:

  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • At the top right-hand corner of the page, click on either the three vertical dots, three horizontal lines, or the wrench. The symbol that displays will vary depending on your version.
  • Click Help, then About Google Chrome.

The current version number is the series of numbers beneath the Google Chrome heading. Chrome will automatically check for updates when you are on this page. If any updates are needed, Chrome will begin the process. Once it is ready, it will instruct you to click Relaunch to apply any available updates.

Update Mozilla Firefox | Desktop

In order to update your Firefox browser:

  • On your computer, open Firefox.
  • At the top right-hand corner of the page, click on the three horizontal lines.
  • Click the ? button in the lower right-hand corner of the drop-down page, then choose About Firefox at the bottom of the drop-down list.
  • The About Firefox window will open, and Firefox will begin checking for updates and downloading them automatically.

When the updates are ready to be installed, click Restart Firefox to Update.

Update Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows 7 | Desktop

If you have a Windows 7 operating system, we highly recommend that you download Google Chrome. The PEAK website works best when using this web browser.

However, if you wish to continue using your Internet Explorer browser, follow these instructions:

Note: Download speeds will depend on your computer as well as your Internet Provider, so please allow a good amount of time for the download to complete properly.

Update Safari (for OS 10.9 & higher) | Desktop

In order to bring your Safari desktop browser up-to-date:

  • Open your Mac's App Store. It is the blue app with a white "A" on it. You should see this option in the dock. If you do not see the App Store, click the magnifying glass in the top-right corner of the window, and type "App Store" into the Search field, and then click the "App Store" result.
  • Click the Updates tab. You will see this option on the far-right side of the row of options at the top of the App Store window.
  • Click Update right of the "Safari" option. This will prompt Safari to update to the latest supported version.

Ensure that automatic updates are enabled. You can make sure that you are always running the latest version of Safari by checking that automatic updates are enabled. Click the Apple menu and select System Preferences. Click the App Store option on the System Preferences menu. Check the Automatically check for updates box. Check the boxes to enable automatic app and system updates.

Update Safari (for iOS 5 & higher) | Mobile

In order to bring your Safari Mobile Device browser up to date:
  • Place your device on a charger. This will prevent your device from dying during the update.
  • Open the Settings app. It has a gray gear icon and is located on your device's home screen.
  • Tap Wifi.
  • Tap On/Off switch to turn on Wifi. The switch is to the right of Wifi (if the switch is green, the Wifi is on).
  • Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join. After you join the network, you will see a checkmark next to the network.
  • Tap the back button. It is in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  • Tap General. It has a gray gear icon next to it.
  • Tap Software Update. If there is a notification circle with a number in it next to Software Update, a software update is available (if you do not see a notification circle, you cannot update your iOS or Safari).
  • Tap Download and Install.
  • Tap Agree.
  • Tap Continue. After the download is complete, your device will restart.

Update Android (for 5.0 & higher) | Mobile

In order to bring your Android Mobile Device browser up to date:

  • Make sure that you are connected to a Wifi network.
  • Go to Settings.
  • If HTC, go to System Updates.
  • For all other models, first go to About Phone/Device, and then select System Updates.
  • Press Check for Updates.

You will be given the option of updating immediately or waiting until later.
